Woot, got to go to the gym today and it felt great, tiring, hot and intense pain, but it was good :)

We also bought a travel mug from Gloria Jean's so I can have a treat of skim milk cappucino on the way home and I get 50 cents off each time too when I get them to fill the mug, not bad :)
On the way home got a fantastic shot of the approaching storm / sunset on the way home from gym

Dinner tonight was scrumptious, chicken schnitzel w/ gravy, steamed vegetables, mashed potato, pumpkin and sweet potato w/ 2 slices of light garlic bread

Sunny day for the most part, clouded over towards the end of the day and I was so hoping for a storm, but nada LOL oh well, another day.

I was going through my excel charts for my weights and realised that for the month of Jan, I thought I was doing really badly in the gains dept but overall, since the beginning of the year till Friday's weigh in (last for month Jan) I only gained 200 grams - quite happy with that!  With everything that happened with illness, antibiotics, hospital, bed rest, minimal gym, to "only" gain 200 grams yep, very happy and not such a hurdle to overcome in the coming months either.

So focused now on Feb, my birthday month :)  If I can stay healthy, out of hospital, minimal down time due to cellulitis and more gym time I'd be a very happy girl, but having said all that, I am just taking it one day, one step at a time of a very long journey.

Speaking of gym, we're hoping to return tomorrow and see how I go there as well as I have dropped down to 3 tablets 4 times a day (but have missed 2 doses today and yesterday so in reality I have had less but so far, no repercussions)

I also have been doing min 30 mins weights at home too to try and build my strength back up again.

Dinner was really nice tonight, rump steak with jacket potato, steamed vegetables and a little lite pasta as well, filling and yummy.  I am trying to eat more meat cause at the moment if I have one a week I"m doing ok.

Water again has been really hard for me to remember to drink though I am drinking a glass with tablets each time so that must count right?

Anyway, I'm off to go read a good book :) cya all tomorrow

Felt really tired today, so have been resting most of the day

Dinner tonight will be good though, love making our own pizza's, I use the Old El Paso Light Tortillas for my bases and it really comes out nice and crunchy.

PM Update

Well we had pizza and yep, they were so filling, we also watched the new 3 Musketeer's which was quite good.

We were looking at trying to get to the movies God willing if my legs play nice but so many new movies coming out we haz too many choices people! LOL :)

I personally want to see Darkest Hour but our theatre only has it in 3D?

Still kids and I are having fun planning movie nights to come.

A small gain of 500 grams - I'm happy about that, sounds strange I know but with everything going on the last couple weeks, being sick, hospital, antibiotics, stress etc, to have a big loss last week of 3.5 kg, to "only" have a gain this week of 500 grams is pretty good I think anyway LOL

Speaking of antibiotics, I was pretty sick with stomach cramps, going to loo often etc last night and ended up putting myself to bed to try and sleep it off and I woke up this morning realising I had missed 2 of my doses for Clindamycin which was a little worrying.  But I have decided to keep taking them for now, but dropping the dose down to 3 instead of 4 tabs each time and gradually wean myself off them and see what happens.

I have to come off them anyway soon cause of the risks of getting Clostridium difficile-associated diarrhea which is very common apparently with people taking Clindamycin and it doesn't sound very pleasant at all and takes a long time to recover from, so after my little bout last night..

Hopefully back to gym on Mon - woohoo I have missed going so much.  But I have been continuing with my weights at home trying to keep myself active which has been a good help.

Happy Australia Day to all and sundry :)  Here at least in Sydney it was fine for most of the day which helped dry up some of the major puddles flooding our back and front patios.  Poor dogs were trying to find a dry spot LOL as for the cat, well, he hardly went outside.

Did 30 mins of light weights morning and afternoon and it felt great - loved just shaking those Zumba sticks LOL kids can tell when I'm exercising - might not sound like much but after 20 mins of constant arm work they sure start feeling heavy.  Hopefully soon I can go back to normal weights.

The bruising on my arms are slowly going down thank God, I looked like I had been bashed over and over, not a pretty sight.  So once they're gone I'm going to increase my weights again.

Going to sit down for dinner shortly with the kids and watch some movies tonight, love this time with them, all too soon Toni will be back at Tafe and I will be as well.  Sigh!

Quiet day, just the kids and I again, feels very weird after having someone here for last 6 weeks, but then again, it's nice having the place to ourselves.. hmm

Cold wind / rain again today, just right for staying indoors.

Wasn't able to get into the car yesterday for the clinic appointment, so I made it for next week (cross fingers that the legs will be down enough for me)

But doctor has kept me on 4 tabs Clindamycin 4 times daily for the next week, so after that we'll see what happens.

I have been exercising again in the chair, just light weights while watching tv to see how I feel afterwards and so far, feels GREAT :)

Foodwise on track too - good day overall.

Still resting, nothing exciting, enjoying the peace and quiet haha Toni has gone to her boyfriend's place for the weekend as it's their anniversay and they're going out to celebrate then she's staying the night at his parent's house and coming back home Sun evening.

Tired, very glad I have my painkillers have to admit as I am in so much pain from the legs AND from all the bruising coming out, I can't even use my right wrist properly (they put canula in the vein at bottom of my hand leading into the wrist but had to go very deep and angled to get it good enough to be useful for canula than just taking blood) but I know these will all go in time, just right now OUCHIE :)

Tom came too with a vengenance thanks to blood thinners :( but again, had to be sometime I guess, maybe all the extra fluids helped who knows, but he's here to stay for while I think LOL

Weight wise was a major surprise, but not jumping up and down yet, see how it is next week and so on so keep doing the same thing once I'm well and able to go back to gym then start again at hydrotherapy as the doctors think it's the best thing I can be doing for my legs even if just walking, so hydro for bottom half, gym for top half, Weight Watchers for my food and Internet for my mental LOL hehehehe.

Family is having pizza for dinner tonight - celebrating me being home again and having special dinner for friend of mine who's been staying with me (caravan out back yard) but he's heading back to Melb on Mon :( sigh oh well.

Only allowed on computer for 15 mins at time and I'm nearly all up, so hugs to everyone, thank you so much for all your support on here and FB.

Ohh before I go 1millionkilochallenge is running for people to join and sign up with teams etc and the kids and I have formed a team and would love to have people join us.  More explanations etc are on the site (sorry I'm still a little out of things atm)

Released from hospital early evening to Home care - basically same as hospital regular ops, medication, bed rest until I go back Mon morning to see the doctors again for results and check up, then we'll discuss what they want to do in future..

Very tired, lot of pain, leg now very red and swollen, fever thankfully broken, but they've put me on lots of painkillers and panadein and back up on massive clindamycin 4 times a day again (I was supposed to go home on IV but my veins just were too battered this time to keep a canula in) so we're testing how I go on oral

Black and blue arms where they kept trying to get canulas in, they ended up popping quite a few veins which is extremely painful and of course I bruise easily so voila massive areas.

Top it all off, the blood thinners they put me on seems to have started time of month off too which I hate getting while I'm sick and immobilised like this.. grrrrr plus they pumped me full of fluid from the time I got in till I left and I feel like michelin man now all bloated and swollen from finger tips to toes... weird feeling cause normally I swell from excess lymphatic fluid and not normal fluid so this feeling of bloatiness is very different and I'm not passing it anywhere quick enough - they did admit they might have overdone it, but I was so dehydrated when I went in they had no choice - oh well, what has to be was done.

OK, limited on sitting up / computer again 15 mins or so, then back to bed, so I'm off till tomorrow (weigh day regardless.. sigh)

Quiet day again today, got up early, did 30 mins weights (woohoo), made my own breakfast (eggs, bacon and toast - double woohoo) and sat back watched some early morning tv till kids woke up.

Went back to bed bout 11.30 am resting while Toni & Michael went to the radiology clinic for an x-ray and ultrasound on her shoulder (apparently it shows some inflammation they said, full results on Friday)

Got up when they returned and Michael and I then went to the doctor's to get our results.  He is fine, no diabetes in sight which was a great relief, little bit high on cholesterol but nothing dramatic.  She did do a swab though on the coloured patch on the front of his leg to see if we can determine what it is.

Me, well, a little improvement like by 1 with Vitamin D and Iron but nowhere near what she thought I should have improved, so when I have my next lot of bloods in a month for Vit B12 and thryroid and to test for infection we'll double check these results today.

As for infection, I'm now officially INFECTION FREE :) BUT she is keeping me on 2 tabs 4 times a day of Clindamycin for another month to make sure it doesn't return on the lower dose, if still free after then, I'm off tablets :)

OHHHH best news too is that I am NOT diabetic.. (hear that all you hospital doctors that insist I MUST be with my size and all even after they do tests they don't believe that I'm not geez) - I'm 4.3 and Michael was 4.9 (nah nah I beat you LOL)

So more tests in one month, but till then, reduced doses of antibiotics, 1 tab thyroxine, 1 tab vit d and 1 tab iron - that's it :)

Though she is insisting I sit outside more which I am trying to do..

Ok tonight will be our curried sausages with ? on the side LOL haven't decided, but the kids want hash browns and they said I could have one or two with steamed vegies .. sounds nice.

I escaped!!! LOL Michael was going up to the shop tonight (9.00 pm) and said if you make it out to the car before me you can come too.. well, I waddled quick and got a trip up to the shops :) woohoo.

Mmmmmm curried sausages are so yummy and we ended up having potato gems and steamed vegies on the side plus a small crusty roll, heaven!

Can't sleep, decided to get up early (Thyroxine was due anyway) and get some stuff done on the computer then head back to bed after I take my next dose of Clindamycin.

Today hopefully off to gym this afternoon if Toni is well enough, she's been pretty stuffy and headachy, with this weird weather we've been having no wonder, it's boiling hot in day time and freezing at night, not comfortable either way and the air has been so heavy, asthma has been a little more noticeable than it has for a long time.

So have been converting some movie files for iphone format so I can put myself back to bed and watch if I can't sleep LOL :)

Ok went to the gym, Toni wasn't feeling very well, but she insisted on taking me anyway LOL :) so had a good workout and beautiful weather for drive too, very nice.

Dinner was spaghetti bolognese with garlic bread, very basic but nice..

Here it is nearly 9.30 pm and I'm exhausted!  Tired and in lots of pain, so going to head off to bed early and kids will wake me for my 1.00 am tablets.

Very quiet day today, we just had a mini rainstorm here nothing dramatic but it did cool things down a little.

Didn't make it to the doctor's for results today, will have to wait now till Tuesday as she's away tomorrow, oh well, I'll be staying on the antibiotics until then.

Just extremely tired and in pain today, but rested up, read a lot and kept falling asleep, so all in all a "nothing much happened" type of day.

I guess too I just took the time to rethink some things in respect to certain friendships that I have struggled to make sense of lately and I am happy and resigned to some decisions I have made.  I actually am looking forward to moving on from a certain person (I know it's cryptic, but I can't explain right now) - roll on 23rd Jan :)

Food wise today, very basic stuff, nutrigrain for breakfast, yoghurt for lunch, lamb forequarter and roasted vegetables & steamed vegies for dinner, basic but just what I need

After fasting all night, Michael and I went up and had our blood tests today and I had another fantastic lady do mine who had no problems at all getting a vein and filling all the vials.. sigh, why does the hospital label me as a difficult patient she doesn't know LOL

Results hopefully late tomorrow afternoon or Tue (doctor is away on Mon)

Had a pretty lousy night with pain with the leg so have been taking painkillers again regularly and just resting all today up till now (5.30 pm) - am spending a little time sitting up doing some computer work then dinner and back resting again - boring sad life I know.

Points wise on track again today, with nutrigrain 30 grams for breakfast (after test), lunch was 2 rolls w/ marg & vegemite (1 roll before sleep and another one when I got up).

Dinner tonight is hopefully home made hamburgers - will update afterwards.

Yep, home made hamburgers - patties were Coles Lamb w/ mint, egg, pineapple thin slices, light cheese, eggs and WW bacon, very filling and very nice :)

Apple pie with custard for dessert (Toni's boyfriend was here for dinner and loves his apple pie LOL)

I ended up using 2 of my weekly 49 points so that wasn't too bad at all.

No exercise today but I'm more concerned with limiting damage to my leg while hopefully the excess lymphatic fluid finally drains away easing the pain.

But on the whole, another day to do it all again tomorrow - I love life :) regardless lol

Went up to the doctors today for my Vit B12 injection plus get the forms for blood tests that I'll have tomorrow, this is an intermediate blood test to see if I have any infections still inside and depending on that result we'll work out a management plan with continuing antibiotics but in lower doses

I'm also being tested for diabetes again as I am concerned about my son who has had a nasty looking sore on the front of his leg that isn't open but just looks nasty as well as that leg being more swollen than the other.. and yeah I did think maybe lymphoedema as well for him as it can be hereditary but he was borderline diabetic a while back and was in denial about it, so Toni and I said if he went to the doctors and got tested, we'd do it too just to rule it out.

So Toni was lucky, she just got the "prick" test and was fine, but my doctor wanted me and Michael to have the fasting blood test (sigh) so tomorrow we're up and early back up to get blood taken and hopefully results on Sunday.

But when I got home this afternoon my left leg was double in size around the knee (up to thigh and down to calf) full of fluid and I felt like I was being squeezed in two or someone was doing a chinese burn on my leg, so popped one Endone (pain killer) and then another as it just got worse and I was in tears - weighed in quickly and popped myself off to bed to try and sleep the pain away.

4 hrs later and pain is moderate atm but the fluid is still there and I will have another Endone before bed in couple hours.

Going to have some late dinner before fasting for tomorrow.

I hate lymphoedema with all my heart .. it's just so soul destroying I tell you..

Anyway, I am up 900 grams which I am very ok with as I know the leg is holding on to a lot more fluid.

But in good news, this week I have again gone to gym 2 days, so so far this year, I have been able to go 2 days per week for a fortnight, which is fantastic :) and I have over the weekend to rest up the leg and hopefully be back to "normal" ready for gym again on Mon.

Michael is going to take me to the hydrotherapy pools on either Tue or Wed which will be great too, can't wait :)

Anyway, I'm off to rest and watch movies with Toni and later read books till I can fall asleep LOL

I made it back to gym again this afternoon - felt really good going and the weather was gorgeous, so Toni and I had windows down, cool breeze, blue sky and music blaring on our way there and home.

We also stopped for a skinny cappucino afterwards too which felt so sinful but ohh it was so much fun being out in public, with lots of people milling around smiling at us :)

Our normal trainers weren't there today, so I only had the piece of paper Mel had worked out my program on to follow but that was ok, the music and the general vibe of the place really helped to keep me working and motivated.  Good hard workout.

Dinner tonight was a bit of a bust unfortunately, we had chicken skewers (BBQ and Satay Chicken) but they just didn't taste right and were quite fatty inside - so that was a meal wasted (though the dogs thought they were delicious)

Oh well, tomorrow is D Day for us or me (Vit B12 injection plus blood tests) and the kids and I are also having diabetes skin prick tests as well just to rule that out.  Results for my tests should be in on Sunday hopefully, so fingers crossed.

Lovely Subway for lunch yesterday - sorry bout the bite gone LOL I couldn't resist hehehe.

Belated entry - I was just really tired and found it hard to do anything today - so decided to just take things easy.

Weather wise, today was very windy actually, kept rocking the car while I was sitting in it waiting for Toni to get Subway for lunch, then she got hit by small branch as she returned to the car - scary!  But she's ok :)

Very very boring day today, wasn't feeling crash hot last night so went to bed and only got up to go to the loo or take tablets all day up to 7.30 pm but I must admit I feel a little better, we think my body was fighting something but thanks to still being on the antibiotics I only got a very little taste so that was great :)

Tomorrow I am resting too as I really want to make it to the gym on Thursday.

I did however not have breakfast as I wasn't up to it, but had a little lunch and I am going to have dinner shortly so not too bad I guess overall.

Dinner last night was quiche, pasta salad, potato salad, lettuce, tomato and beetroot - very yummy

I'll be back later with tonight's dinner LOL :)

3 times in a row - yep I have now gone to the gym 3 times in a row without any side effects or cellulitis attacks - isn't that fantastic ?

Was a great workout too met some new trainers who were delightful and really worked me hard too!!!

Really hot day today then cooled off and started raining round 5.00 pm, now it's 8.30 pm and we're getting peals of thunder but nothing too exciting yet, hopefully later.

Got up early again today and did 30 mins weights before breakfast, then enjoyed my nutrigrain and yoghurt with tablets LOL

Tomorrow we're aiming to go back to the gym which would mean 3 x in a row and I've not done that yet since we joined, always seemed to get sick after the second one so I am so excited that I might actually be getting rid of this infection once and for all by taking the antibiotics for so long.

But blood tests and Vit B12 injection on Fri to happen before I can get too excited.

Had a rest again this afternoon of couple hours and it seemed to help, so I must remember I need to do things properly if I'm truly learning to listen to my body and it's needs.
